Roldan has recently made waves in the national spotlight. The MLS player has been called up to recent national team camps by Mauricio Pochettino and is a strong candidate to make the USMNT roster for the FIFA World Cup this summer.
While some question if his playing ability is up to the standard of the national team, this sequence of events showcases what makes him an asset and a fan favorite off the field, and why Pochettino might have a personal liking towards the player and his role with the U.S.
