With Jackson Koivun's win at the 3M Open and Michael Thorbjornsen's breakthrough at the Rocket Classic, it feels like star-making season on the PGA Tour. A few of our experts believe that trend will continue this week at the Wyndham Championship.

Speaking of trends, we're trending, too. Ryan Noonan hit on Koivun and Steve Hennessey on Thorbjornsen, so we're going for three straight this week. Getting hot at just the right time.

The Golf Digest betting panel is comprised of Pat Mayo of Underdog/Mayo Media Network, Andy Lack of the Inside Sports Network, Ryan Noonan of Betsperts, your two authors and Keith Stewart, the CEO of Read The Line.

Wyndham Championship picks 2026: Our Experts’ Outright Predictions
Pat Mayo, Underdog/Fantasy National,
Mayo Media Network analyst: Tom Kim(28-1, Coolbet) — It was surprising to see Tom Kim so far down the betting board at the opening odds. His accuracy is back up, and he has been unchallenged as the top approach player in the field over the past four months. Kim is 0.27 strokes better on approach per round than the second-best player over that same span: Blades Brown. If this is one of the weeks where he can actually make a few five-footers, he’ll be there Sunday.

Keith Stewart, PGA, Read The Line: Ben Griffin(28-1, Bet365) — Bounce back, Ben Griffin? You bet! Four of the last seven Wyndham winners (eight of the last 20) have strong Carolina ties. In four Sedgefield starts, Griffin has finished T-11, T-7, MC and fourth. The key to Ben’s success at this event is twofold. First, Griffin is a great Bermudagrass player. Ranked second in the field on Bermuda greens and 16th in SG/putting, he has a serious edge. The second is approach play. Griffin is a master with a wedge in his hand on a positional layout where the driver is used less frequently.

Ryan Noonan, Content Manager 4for4/Betsperts: Jackson Koivun(18-1, DraftKings) — Yes, again. Last week’s T-31 at the Rocket Classic was a bit of a letdown after his 3M Open win, but I’m going back to the well on Jackson Koivun this week in Greensboro. The Chapel Hill native made a splash here last season, finishing T-5 and gaining throughout the bag. Koivun sits at the top of my Rabbit Hole model this week, and that’s too good to ignore.

Stephen Hennessey, Golf Digest managing editor:Davis Thompson(54-1, DraftKings) — Riding off two straight top-10s, I love Thompson at the Wyndham—where he has three straight top-25s. He’s gained more than 14 strokes on approach in his past four events and just picked up more than five strokes putting at the Rocket Classic. Christopher Powers, Golf Digest senior writer: Ryan Gerard(30-1, BetMGM) — Normally, a very public 30-1 Ryan Gerard with the “home game” angle as an N.C. native would have me running the other direction, but it’s never that easy. But I can’t quit this man. Four top 10s in his last seven starts, Gerard seems as close to a breakthrough win as ever. I refuse to miss out on it. Andy Lack, Inside Sports Network: Sungjae Im(50-1, BetMGM) — Sungjae Im finally showed some signs with his irons last week en route to a 15th-place finish at the Rocket Classic. Now he returns to a golf course where he has recorded five top-25 finishes in seven starts, and should highlight his accuracy off the tee and expertise on Bermuda greens.

Past results: We have our SIXTH winner of 2026, and we just went back-to-back! Our newest panelist, Ryan Noonan, correctly selected Jackson Koivun at 36-1 to win the 3M Open, which was his fourth winner of the year. Then Steve Hennessey backed that up with a Michael Thorbjornsen pick at 41-1 to win the Rocket Classic for his third winner of the year. Let’s stay hot and finish the season strong!

Wyndham Championship picks 2026: Sleepers/Dark Horses Who Could Win
Mayo
: Blades Brown(66-1, Coolbet) — As mentioned, he’s second in approach over the past four months and has gained on the greens in seven straight PGA Tour starts. He’s got plus accuracy and a short game to boot. He just needs to get over the Sunday struggles. Maybe seeing fellow youngsters Koivun and Thorbjornsen get over the hump the last two weeks will give him some confidence. Gotta feel like he’s coming in with a ton of confidence just by his decision to play. He’s currently inside the top 10 in the Korn Ferry Tour Points List, where the top 20 earn PGA Tour cards for next year. One more top finish on the Korn Ferry Tour this week would essentially lock him into the PGA Tour for 2027. However, since he has Special Temporary Membership on the PGA Tour, a victory would give him full status and get him into the FedEx Cup Playoffs next week. I like the gamble. Stewart: Blades Brown(66-1, BetRivers) — There’s one more young star on the PGA Tour ready for a breakout win, and that’s Blades Brown. Brown is a scoring machine who already has six top 10s on the Korn Ferry and PGA Tour this year. Two of which are in his last two starts. With one result worse than T-22 in his last 11 tournaments, the consistency Blades shows at 19 years old is extremely impressive. If Gen Z is trending, Brown is definitely one of their generational players. Noonan: Alex Fitzpatrick(45-1, BetRivers) — A few strong recent finishes at TPC River Highlands (T-7) and Muirfield Village (T-6) were very impressive, showing signs that his early spring run is no fluke. Those were Signature Event fields on courses that demand elite ball-striking to contend, and Matt’s younger brother continues to deliver. Over the past 36 rounds, Fitzpatrick laps the field with 1.41 strokes gained ball-striking on average (he’s first in tee-to-green as well), gaining in 82.4 percent of his rounds played.

Hennessey, Golf Digest: Ben Kohles (60-1, BetRivers) — This is going to a popular one this week, but I’m on it—Kohles is one of the most accurate players and his iron play. He’s trending toward getting over the line, and this should be a perfect venue for him.

Powers, Golf Digest: Chris Kirk(80-1, FanDuel) — Kirk has had his iron game dialed in for three months now, and last week he finally got the driver to cooperate, too. The final piece of the puzzle is the putter, which he’ll need to go nuclear with to have a chance at making the FedEx Cup Playoffs. Translation: He has to win this week at 127th in the standings. Kirk should like his chances at Sedgefield, where he tied for fifth a year ago. Lack: Davis Thompson(54-1, DraftKings) — Davis Thompson is playing some great golf right now, and he is coming off his second straight top 10 last week at the Rocket Classic. Thompson was also finally able to turn the putter around in Detroit, an aspect of his game that has been plaguing him all season.

Wyndham Championship picks 2026: Miscellaneous prop
Mayo
: Brian Campbell, first-round leader(160-1, DraftKings) — Campbell led the field in stroke gained/approach in Detroit a week ago and could not make a putt. Now he gets a course where distance doesn’t matter—accuracy does. Keep up those hot irons for at least one round and make a few of these putts, and we’re in business. Stewart: Billy Horschel, top 20 finish (+445, DraftKings) — In his last eight Sedgefield starts, Billy Horschel has finished in the top 20 six times. Heck, Horschel has finished in the top 10 in five of those years. The books missed this one, so take the +445 to the ticket window on Sunday afternoon.

Noonan: Nico Echavarria, top 20 finish(+500, FanDuel) — Bermudagrass greens, easier scoring conditions, and a weaker-than-average field. This is the recipe for a good Nico Echavarria week, and we’ll get it in Greensboro. Hennessey, Golf Digest: Brandt Snedeker, first-round leader (130-1, DraftKings) — Sneds is top 10 in driving accuracy in this field and is such a good putter on Bermuda, so I love his chances of starting strong. In his prime, he was a first-round leader machine—so I love turning back the clock and taking this. Powers, Golf Digest: Jackson Suber, top 20 finish, including ties(+290, DraftKings) — At triple digits, Suber will get some money from me outright, too. He’s one of the many guys I refuse to quit on. This guy was in the mix deep into Sunday at the Canadian Open and then was T-6 heading into Sunday at the British before fading Sunday. He’s been meh in two starts since, but the iron play continues to be a strength, which usually translates to success at Sedgefield. He needs a solo sixth to make it to Memphis next week, but all we need for this to hit is T-20 or better. Lack: Winning Score UNDER 261.5(-125, FanDuel) — We’ve got soft and calm conditions this week in Greensboro, and I expect players to tear this golf course up. We routinely see a winning score easier than 20 under par under similar weather patterns, and I would exact the same outcome this week.

Wyndham Championship picks 2026: Matchups
Mayo
: Brian Harman (-110) over Alex Noren (Coolbet) — No player fits Sedgefield better than Brian Harman, while Alex Noren, despite a few good showings here and there, has been wildly inconsistent over the course of the past three months. Give me the guy with a better baseline at the perfect course fit. Stewart: Keegan Bradley (+100) over Sungjae Im (FanDuel) — My goal each week is to find one or two positive moneyline H2H matchups. Michael Brennan gave us a winner (+100) last week, and I have another. Keegan Bradley is ranked second in the field on approach and is ranked thirteenth for SG/tee-to-green. Two outside the playoff cutline, Bradley is focused on a strong week. Sungjae Im has shown some signs of life in recent weeks, but the consistency of Im’s iron game is still in question. Locked in for the first round of the playoffs, I see Sungjae saving himself for next week. Noonan: Jordan Smith (-105) over Keegan Bradley (BetMGM) — Keegan’s ball-striking was good last week, but it’s been an up-and-down season from our former Captain. To make matters worse, I’m going to back a European Englishman against him here in Jordan Smith. His ball-striking numbers are among the best in the field, and he’s gained over a stroke per round in four straight and five of his past six starts. He gains off the tee through distance and accuracy, which you love to see this week. Hennessey, Golf Digest: Davis Thompson (-114) over Jordan Smith (DraftKings) — I love Davis Thompson this week, so I’ll ride with him here.

Powers, Golf Digest: Jordan Spieth (+120) over Harris English (Bet365) — Last week I said I’d take anybody over Spieth right now (which was the correct decision). He then proceeded to have his best week in two months, which resulted in a ... T-31. Another week like that might be all he needs to clip English, who has gone MC/T-38/MC/MC/T-71 in his last five starts and is coming off his second-worst approach week of the year. Lack: Brian Harman (-110) over Bud Cauley (Pinnacle) — Brian Harman quietly finished top-five in his last start at the 3M Open and has had a ton of success on short, positional courses. Cauley will be making his first start since the Open Championship, where he lost strokes ball-striking. Matchup Results from the Rocket Classic: Stewart: 1 for 1 (Brennan (-110) over English); Powers: 1 for 1 (Brennan (-118) over Spieth); Mayo: 1 for 1 (Brennan (-110) over English); Noonan: 1 for 1 (Henley (-102) over Griffin); Hennessey: 1 for 1 (Brennan (-110) over English); Lack: 0 for 1Matchup Results from the 2026 season (Wins-Losses-Pushes):Stewart: 16-8-3 (up 6.13 units); Powers: 18-11-0 (up 5.14 units); Mayo: 15-12-2 (up 3.21 units); Noonan: 14-11-4 (up 1.51 units); Lack: 16-11-2 (up 1.43 units); Hennessey: 12-15-2 (down 3.97 units)

Wyndham Championship picks 2026: Top 10s
Mayo
: Bud Cauley (+450, Coolbet) — In theory, this should be an excellent Bud Cauley course. He excels at courses where fairways are at a premium, enters having gained on approach in six of seven starts, and possesses one of the tour’s best sets of hands from around the green. His putter will be the swing factor. Much like his history on the greens at Sedgefield, his recent performances show a split personality between elite putting and maybe the worst guy in the field. In two of his past five starts, Cauley has gained +6.27 and +6.68 SG/putting. In the other three starts, he’s lost more than 3.22 strokes in each. That about mimics what he’s done on these greens over the years. Twice he’s gained over five strokes putting, evening that out by losing over four in a pair of starts. He lost almost seven in only two rounds a year ago. These are the perfect type of players to target as longshots. Stewart: Jackson Koivun (+235, DraftKings) — I believe Jackson Koivun’s goal is to make the Tour Championship. Uber motivated and insanely talented, the kid returns to a venue where he finished T-5 in his first start last year. Accurate off the tee and an accomplished Bermuda grass player, take the 10 places and watch this young star continue to climb the FedEx Cup rankings all the way to Atlanta! Noonan: Ryan Gerard (+325, DraftKings) — Gerard is a flusher and one of the best par-4 golfers in the field, and he’s fared quite well in similar setups, where there’s a high penalty for a missed fairway, and the field leans less-than-driver off the tee. He’s fifth in my model this week, and a strong look north of 30-1 to win, so I like this top-10 price, too. Hennessey, Golf Digest: Ben Kohles (+410, DraftKings) — Even if Kohles can’t get over the line, his ball-striking has been so good I love his chances of contending. Powers, Golf Digest: Keegan Bradley (+600, FanDuel) — It’s hard to believe, but Keegan Bradley does not have a top-10 finish in 2026. He’s certainly been right on the doorstep, though, with five top 20s in his last 11 starts, including a T-15 at the Rocket. His approach game remains as dialed as ever. If he gets some putts to fall, he’ll be a factor on Sunday. Lack: Doug Ghim (+475, Bet365) — Doug Ghim just continues to play some rock solid golf and remains one of the most underrated ball-strikers on tour. He gained over five strokes off the tee last week at the Rocket Classic and his elite ability to find fairways will certainly come in handy at Sedgefield this week.

Top-10 results from the Rocket Classic: Noonan: 1 for 1 (Cameron Young +140); Everybody else: 0 for 1Top-10 results from the 2026 season: Mayo: 10 for 29 (up 40.55 units); Lack: 8 for 29 (up 12.1 units); Stewart: 7 for 29 (up 3.05 units); Noonan: 7 for 29 (up 0.9 units); Powers: 6 for 29 (up 0.25 units); Hennessey: 5 for 29 (down 9.6 units)About our expertsPat Mayo is an award-winning video host and producer of long and short-form content, and the host of The Pat Mayo Experience daily talk show.
