WWE Raw on June 29, 2026 took place at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, and featured a showdown with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.
The first show since Night of Champions was about the fallout from the PLE, which featured the finals of the King and Queen of the Ring. There five matches on the show, and only one of them had stakes attached. Rey Mysterio beat Ethan Page, Joe Hendry beat Austin Theory, Jimmy Uso beat LA Knight, Raquel Rodriguez beat Maxxine Dupri, and Chad Gable tapped JD McDonagh.
Here’s the top takeaways from this week’s show:
Opening the show was the KOTR winner, Oba Femi, with crown in hand. Just as he teased what choice he would make ahead of SummerSlam, Brock Lesnar’s music hit. "The Beast" entered with Paul Heyman and took a mic.
Lesnar said he didn’t watch the show, and hilariously went as far as to say everyone knows that he doesn’t watch the show. Lesnar then told Femi he heard about the trash he was talking in his absence. "Talk sh*t, get hit," Lesnar said.
A swift kick to the nuts followed, then an F-5. As Lesnar exited, Femi got back up, called Lesnar a bitch, and challenged him to a match at SummerSlam. Lesnar accepted, but only if it’s a Hell in a Cell match.
Well, this opening segment started the show off on a hot note, but also a confusing one. Femi just won the KOTR crown, which meant he was supposed to choose a champion to face at SummerSlam. Instead, he chooses to fight Lesnar? So, is the KOTR crown just another Money in the Bank that he can cash in whenever he wants? Apparently so, because Femi essentially said that backstage when speaking to Adam Pearce.
Femi vs. Lesnar in a Cell will be crazy, but is it too much to expect consistency with the PLE and title gimmicks? We saw IYO SKY challenge Liv Morgan on the spot after winning Queen of the Ring, but on the men’s side, it’s just whatever, apparently. So much for Femi calling out Roman Reigns or Sami Zayn.
In the only match that had stakes on this week’s show, Raquel Rodriguez took on Maxxine Dupri in a No. 1 contender match for the women’s Intercontinental Championship.
There wasn’t much special about this match, but it was fine. A Tejana Bomb from Rodriguez was enough to get the job done, and she will go on to face Sol Ruca for the women’s IC title.
It would be nice to see Rodriguez with gold around her waist, but it seems too quick for Ruca to drop the title already. If she retains, it will be a nice win on her resume, as Rodriguez is one of the biggest powerhouse threats in the women’s division. We’ll see which direction WWE decides, but here’s hoping that match gets plenty of time to breathe.
Danhausen’s curses have been causing a lot of damage to Judgment Day as of late. At Night of Champions, he cursed Liv Morgan right before she entered the ring to face IYO SKY for the Queen of the Ring – a match she would go on to lose. He also owes money to Dominik Mysterio and caused JD McDonagh to get electrocuted backstage.
Morgan confronted Danhausen, warning him to fix everything he's done. Mysterio and McDonagh trashed his backstage laboratory and stole his brand-new New York Knicks jersey. Mysterio wore the jersey while ringside for McDonagh's match against Chad Gable. Danhausen got it back momentarily, but was blindsided by Raquel Rodriguez, who returned the jersey to Mysterio.
Danhausen losing his Knicks jersey as Saturday Night's Main Event at Madison Square Garden approaches gives us something to look forward to for that event. Maybe Danhausen will face Mysterio in a match for the jersey. No matter what happens, expect Danhausen to have many more curses to place upon the Judgment Day squad.
IYO SKY's QOTR celebration was a short one. She was promptly cut off by Liv Morgan, who said the only reason she lost the QOTR final was because of Danhausen, and now, she lost respect for IYO SKY.
The trap was laid, and Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez jumped IYO SKY. Morgan hit Oblivion, and then cranked on her knee with a half crab until officials rushed into the ring to break it up.
SummerSlam is long enough away that IYO SKY won't be selling damage from this attack in their title match, unless she gets jumped a few more times in the lead-up. The main thing here was that IYO SKY was taken out in a 3-on-1, and nobody came to save her.
The final segment of the show was a face-to-face with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. The former S.H.I.E.L.D. brothers went back and forth on the mic as Rollins said he came to collect on what he's owed, which is a shot at Reigns' title.
"You owe me, I own you," Rollins said. He reminded Reigns that for all of the accomplishments and accolades he's reached in WWE, he's never defeated him in the ring. Reigns acknowledged that was an issue, and he's eager to make sure his family witnesses him finally getting a win over Rollins.
"SummerSlam, we close the door on The S.H.I.E.L.D., forever," Reigns said as he exited.
This was a solid promo moment that played on the history between Reigns and Rollins, while also leaning into the fact that Reigns has never pinned Rollins. Calling each other brother was a nice touch, too.
Since Rollins picked up a big cage match win over Bron Breakker at Night of Champions, this is a good way to capitalize on his momentum. However, it's still strange that WWE just completely swerved from Femi even making an attempt to call out Reigns. Maybe they're kicking that can down the road until WrestleMania.
