After it was announced that Paul Mullin would be leaving Wrexham this summer after five years on the books at Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac’s beloved Welsh club, the 31-year-old has landed on his feet in League Two.
With 110 goals in 172 appearances, Mullin departed the Racecourse Ground as the club’s seventh-highest goalscorer, having helped them secure three consecutive promotions between 2022 and 2025.
After struggling to find the back of the net during the first half of the 2024-2025 season, Mullin was ultimately dropped entirely as of February 2025.

He went on to depart on loan that summer, joining League One side Wigan Athletic, scoring five times in 26 appearances before his loan was terminated. A second loan stint followed for the rest of the season with fellow League One side Bradford City, failing to score in nine games.
In joining Rotherham United, Mullin returns to a level where he has previously proven such a hit, being named the League Two Player of the Year after leading the league in goals scored during his last season with Cambridge United. Upon returning to League Two in 2023-2024, he was named Wrexham’s Player of the Season for a third year in a row, scoring 24 goals in 38 league games.
Meanwhile, having narrowly missed out on a promotion playoff spot last season, Wrexham have dipped into the transfer market for a new full-back, signing 23-year-old Danny Imray from Premier League side Crystal Palace. He joins for a fee believed to be around £5 million ($6.7 million), as per Wales Online.
Imray will likely look to fill the void left by Issa Kaboré, who impressed last season whilst on loan at the Racecourse Ground from Manchester City.
“First and foremost, I think where this Club is going it’s definitely on an upward trajectory,” Imray said in a statement. “It’s just everything about the Club really – everything behind the scenes. I’ve watched Welcome to Wrexham and it’s not just a Football Club that wants to do well on the pitch, but one that wants to do well off the pitch too.

“The community means a lot to the Club and I think that’s such a good way to be because without the fans, the clubs are nothing.
“There were loads of things that enticed me to come here, but the Club want to be in the Premier League and after speaking to the gaffer it’s just such an exciting project to be a part of.”
Imray’s journey to Wales has been an unusual one. After beginning his senior soccer journey with Chelmsford City in the National League South, he joined Palace’s academy in February 2021.
A loan stint back in Chelmsford followed a year later, after which he spent a season in League Two with Bromley, before heading to League One with Blackpool a year later. Subsequently recalled by Palace mid-season, he made the jump to the Championship for the rest of the year with West Bromwich Albion, making 17 appearances, scoring once and providing two assists as they narrowly avoided relegation.
Speaking after Imray’s signing was confirmed, manager Phil Parkinson commented, “We’re pleased to welcome Danny to the Club. He's got an interesting story, with how he's worked his way up from non-league to the Premier League, and is a young player with potential."
