The Cincinnati Bengals don’t appear to have much of note they can offer up via trade these days.
This is, after all, the team that traded away the 10th overall pick in the Dexter Lawrence deal. And it’s a franchise that, beyond that, just doesn’t do much in the way of trades.
Still, combing the roster, Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton came up with one name as a trade candidate for the Bengals:
Kris Jenkins.
Moton wrote: “Jenkins had some bright spots in two seasons, logging 67 tackles (five for loss) and 4.5 sacks in 29 contests, but he may be fourth on the depth chart with the team's new additions.”
A second-round pick in 2024, Jenkins is indeed on the shortlist of possible trade candidates for the Bengals. Those, at this point, are also known as cut candidates.
Jenkins simply hasn’t panned out quickly enough after being a second-round pick in 2024. The Bengals have sent that message repeatedly this offseason when pounding the table for BJ Hill, trading for Lawrence and signing Jonathan Allen.
Tack on TJ Slaton and the fact edges can play inside in the scheme and Jenkins might have a hard time finding a role.
Granted, Jenkins won’t see the Bengals get much in the way of return via trade, either. But he’s on the shortlist, if we have to make one.
