The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been told they need to do about five hundred different things in the 2025 NFL Draft. They need to shore up the edge rusher position, add more depth on the defensive line, and fix the secondary. Just eight days before the draft, we have finally decided on the worst-case scenario for the Bucs.

The Bucs' worst scenario is that they take a wide receiver who falls to them.

With all due respect to the top talents at the position in this class, they are not needed by the Bucs. Jason Licht recently shared that the Bucs wouldn't rule out drafting one, but they really should. Last year, the issue was the defense, not the offense. Baker Mayfield put up career highs across the board, with the same pieces returning as last year. For the defense, they need some new pieces and extra assets.

Drafting someone like a Matthew Golden or Tetairoa McMillan who falls to them. Yes, they are both top talents in the draft and will be hard to pass up, but they have to. It wasn't easy for Jerry Jones to pass on Johnny Manziel in 2014, but he did. He drafted Zack Martin, and needless to say, that pick ended up being the right decision in the long term.

The Bucs could be in a similar situation on draft night.
