From the World Cup to Yankee Stadium.
Spain's Ferran Torres, who scored the game-winning goal in the 2026 World Cup Final against Argentina last month at MetLife Stadium, is throwing out the ceremonial first pitch in the Bronx on Tuesday night.
Torres will take the mound at Yankee Stadium just prior to the Yankees' 7 p.m. game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
After a scoreless 105 minutes in Spain and Argentina's World Cup Final on July 19, Torres scored the opening goal in the second half of extra time at the 106th minute at MetLife Stadium, giving Spain a 1-0 lead.
It was Torres' first goal of the 2026 World Cup and his third career World Cup goal.
The score stood up and Spain claimed the World Cup title in front of the fans in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and those watching around the world.
