Another month, another tournament to determine the best women's hockey team.
Milano Cortina gold medalists Joy Dunne, Tessa Janecke, Caroline Harvey, Laila Edwards, Kirsten Simms and Ava McNaughton have a chance to pick up more hardware, this time with their college teams, at this weekend's Frozen Final Four.
Dunne and top-ranked Ohio State play Northeastern in one semifinal Friday, March 20, while defending champion Wisconsin, with Harvey, Edwards, Simms and McNaughton, play Janecke and host Penn State in the other semifinal.
The NCAA title game is Sunday, March 22.
Here's how to watch:
The Frozen Four semifinals are Friday, March 20. Top-seeded Ohio State, runners-up last year, plays Northeastern at 4 p.m. ET at Pegula Ice Arena at Penn State. Wisconsin, the defending NCAA champion, takes on Penn State at 7:30 p.m.
The NCAA title game is at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 22.
The Frozen Four games will be streamed on ESPN+. The NCAA title game will air on ESPNU.
Defending champion Wisconsin spent most of the season at No. 1, but the Buckeyes upset the Badgers in the WCHA Championship game earlier this month. That moved Ohio State to No. 1 and gave the Buckeyes the top seed in the NCAA tournament.
The Olympians, of course. Dunne, Janecke, Harvey, Edwards, Simms and McNaughton were all part of the team that beat archrival Canada in overtime to win gold in Milano Cortina, with Harvey taking home MVP honors.
Also keep an eye on Wisconsin senior Lacey Eden, who leads the country in points, with 75 in 39 games; Ohio State freshman Hilda Svensson, who leads all first-year players with 1.61 points per game; and Penn State goaltender Katie DeSa, whose goals-against average of 1.275 is just 0.002 behind McNaughton.
The Patty Kazmaier Award, women's hockey's version of the Heisman Trophy, will be announced on Saturday, March 21. The finalists are Harvey, Janecke and Abbey Murphy of Minnesota.
The announcement will be aired live on NHL Network.
