The WNBA is bringing one of the biggest names in music to Chicago for its 2026 All-Star Game. South African pop star Tyla will headline the halftime show when the league’s top players take the court at the United Center on Saturday, July 25. The performance adds another major attraction to an All-Star weekend already built around Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers, A’ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart.
“One more star is headed to Chicago,” the WNBA announced on social media.
Tyla’s appearance will come at an especially important moment in her career. The 24-year-old will release her sophomore album, “A*POP,” on July 24, just one day before performing in front of a national television audience during the All-Star Game.

Who is performing at the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game?
Tyla will serve as the headline performer for the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game halftime show. The singer has quickly become an international star by blending pop, R&B and amapiano, a style of South African dance music. She broke through globally with “Water,” which became a viral hit and reached the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.
That song earned Tyla the inaugural Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance in 2024. She won the same award again in 2026 for “PUSH 2 START,” giving her two Grammy victories in two nominations.
The WNBA described Tyla as a “multi-platinum global superstar” when announcing her halftime performance.
Her upcoming album includes the singles “IS IT LOVE,” “CHANEL” and “SHE DID IT AGAIN,” a collaboration with Zara Larsson. The timing of the halftime show gives Tyla an enormous platform to introduce that new music while the WNBA celebrates one of the biggest weekends on its calendar.
Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers headline All-Star rosters
The musical announcement arrived shortly after the league finalized the two All-Star rosters. Cynthia Cooper and Teresa Weatherspoon served as honorary general managers, with Paige Bueckers landing on Team Coop and Caitlin Clark leading Team Spoon. The two guards finished as the leading vote-getters and were separated through a coin flip before the draft.
Bueckers will start alongside Kelsey Mitchell, Breanna Stewart, Natasha Howard and Gabby Williams. Clark’s starting group includes Olivia Miles, A’ja Wilson, Aliyah Boston and Jessica Shepard. The roster will give Clark another opportunity to play with Boston, her Indiana Fever teammate, while also pairing her with Wilson, one of the most decorated players in league history.
The All-Star format gives the WNBA a compelling mix of established champions and emerging stars. Clark and Bueckers bring two of the largest fan bases in women’s basketball, while Wilson and Stewart add a combined six league MVP awards. Now, Tyla gives the league another reason for viewers outside the traditional basketball audience to tune in.

How to watch the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game
The 2026 WNBA All-Star Game will be played at the United Center in Chicago on Saturday, July 25. The game is scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m. ET and will air nationally on ABC and stream on Disney+.
WNBA All-Star weekend will begin Friday, July 24, with the Skills Challenge and 3-Point Contest. The weekend’s main event will follow Saturday night, with Tyla taking center court at halftime.
