MADISON – The Wisconsin secondary will be completely revamped next season.
Omillio Agard, the only Badger defensive back with significant experience who didn’t complete his eligibility this season, has entered the transfer portal. On3 reported that the 5-foot-11, 185-pound cornerback was in the transfer portal and Agard reposted the news on his X page.
The redshirt freshman has three years of eligibility left.
Agard was thrust into a key role after Nyzier Fourqurean lost his NCAA appeal to play this season. Agard started three games and played in 11 of 12. He finished with 21 tackles, 16 solo, with one interception. He split time with senior D’Yoni Hill for most of the season and started against Iowa, Ohio State and Oregon when Hill was out due to injury.
When Hill returned, he received an increased percentage of the snaps.
Since the transfer portal opened Jan. 2, the Badgers have put a lot of resources toward overhauling their secondary. The team has added six defensive backs including four cornerbacks: Javon Robinson (Arizona State), Eric Fletcher (Oklahoma State), Bryce West (Ohio State) and Cai Bates (Florida State).
