Wisconsin football landed a commitment from class of 2026 cornerback Carsen Eloms on Tuesday.
The Fishers, Indiana, native chose the Badgers over other top offers from Michigan State, Purdue, Missouri and Vanderbilt. He is scheduled for a trip to Wisconsin during its busy May 30-June 1 official visit weekend. While Michigan State and Purdue were the other contenders with visits scheduled, the trip to Madison may be the only one that Eloms takes.
247Sports lists the 6-foot, 175-pound cornerback as a three-star recruit, ranked as the No. 722 player in the class of 2026, the No. 67 player at his position and the No. 8 recruit from his home state of Indiana. He's fresh off a junior season at Fishers High School that included 47 tackles, eight pass deflections, two interceptions and 294 scrimmage yards on offense.
Eloms is Wisconsin's fourth commitment in the class of 2026 and second in the last few days, joining defensive lineman/edge rusher Carmelow Reed, wide receiver Tayshon Bardo and offensive lineman Benjamin Novak. The recent additions of Eloms and Reed have brought the group up to No. 45 in the national rankings and No. 12 in the Big Ten.
Wisconsin's recruiting efforts are ramping up with the summer months just around the corner. The program is looking to repeat its consecutive top-25 finishes in the 2024 and 2025 cycles. That top-end output requires a significant trend of blue-chip commitments, something the Badgers' class of 2026 has yet to add.
The Badgers are moderately thin in the secondary after a flurry of transfer departures during the winter window. That opportunity could lead to early playing time once Eloms or other talented young cornerbacks arrive on campus.
