Weston was awarded the freedom of Crowborough by the town council in a ceremony on Friday [BBC]
A double gold medal winner from the 2026 Winter Olympics has been awarded the freedom of the town where he grew up.
Matt Weston was granted the freedom of Crowborough by the town council in a special civic ceremony on Friday.
The ceremony, which took place at the Goldsmiths Recreation Ground, was open to members of the public who want to celebrate Weston's "outstanding achievements".
Weston became the first British Winter Olympian to win two medals at the same games by coming first in solo and winning team gold with skeleton partner Tabitha Stoecker.

A spokesperson for the town council called it a "proud and memorable" occasion for the East Sussex town.
Weston was born in Redhill, Surrey, and went to Bennett Memorial School in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
He carries his carries his medals around in a small pouch knitted for him by former Olympic diver Tom Daley.
