Though wide receiver Quentin Johnston is frequently cited as a potential trade candidate as the Chargers evaluate his future, ESPN's Kris Rhim doesn't believe the team will ship him away.

Rhim indicates the coaching staff loves Johnston and is unlikely to move him, but the right offer could quickly change that.

The Bolts have only five draft picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, and Johnston could get them some more draft ammo or potentially a player at another position of need.

Johnston showed improvement in his third season, posting solid numbers with 51 receptions for 735 yards and eight touchdowns across 14 games.

The fifth-year option for Johnston will cost $18 million for the 2027 season. The team has until May 1 to make a final determination on the 2023 first-round pick.

As of now, Johnston is in a wide receiver room joined by Ladd McConkey, second-year players Tre Harris and KeAndre Lambert-Smith, and Derius Davis. Keenan Allen is a free agent.
