The Miami RedHawks would only have to travel about 44 miles to get to University of Dayton Arena.

But their presence in the NCAA tournament First Four in Dayton would be a first for a Mid-American Conference school.

ESPN Bracketologist Joe Lunardi's earlier update had the 20th-ranked Miami RedHawks earning an NCAA Tournament at-large bid despite a MAC tournament quarterfinal loss to UMass.

Lunardi appeared on "SportsCenter" with Scott Van Pelt late Thursday to discuss the RedHawks' chances, and their status among four teams with the "last four byes."

"They're right on the Dayton bubble, if you believe in secondary bubbles," Lunardi said. "I do think they will be in the (NCAA tournament) field ... because it's the right thing to do. ... They went 31-0 in Div. I. They were undefeated. If we don't include them, we've completely lost the plot of what we're about."

The RedHawks will find out on Selection Sunday whether they receive an at-large bid, and whether they have to play a First Four game at UD Arena.
