I heard it. You heard it. We all heard it.

The Smokies kicked off their return to Knoxville as of April 15 with a bang, literally. Covenant Health Park saw fireworks during the national anthem, as well as a 10-minute fireworks show after the games this week.

But will these fireworks be going off for every home game this season, notably on weeknights?

We have the complete Smokies firework schedule for the 2025 season, and the good news for stadium neighbors who don't want to be awakened by bangs on school nights: it's only 27 times, and after this opening week, the fireworks shows are limited to weekends.

Here's the full list of Knoxville Smokies fireworks nights at Covenant Health Park

The Knoxville Smokies, the Double-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, announced in a news release that their 27 nights of fireworks this season will break a franchise record.

There will be a fireworks show following opening week games through April 19. After that, the fireworks will only accompany weekend games.

The July 4 display, preceded by a Smokies game featuring alternate patriotic jerseys, could become a new Fourth of July tradition for a city whose Festival on the 4th at World's Fair Park can feel crowded as the night goes on.

Plus, one of the most popular places to watch Festival on the 4th fireworks was from the Gay Street Bridge, which remains closed as the city explores how to repair and reopen it to pedestrians and cyclists.

Here is a complete list of the 27 fireworks dates set for the new Smokies stadium:

  • April: 15-19
  • May: 2-3, 16-17, 30-31
  • June: 6-7, 27-28
  • July: 4-5, 11-12, 25-26
  • August: 8-9, 22-23
  • September: 5-7

Some of these fireworks nights overlap with other promotions, so be sure to check out our full story about all of the themed nights on the schedule. Among the more unique promotions: a pro wrestling night, dueling pianos night and Harry Potter night. Also, the Smokies will wear Knoxville Giants uniforms Aug. 8 to honor the city's former Negro League team of the 1920s.

The historic Giants are being honored all season with an in-stadium beer by Ebony & Ivory Brewing and with statues on the stadium's public plazas.

The new Covenant Health Park just east of the Old City also will host One Knoxville SC games, concerts and other events, including private gatherings in the rentable club area and public programming on the stadium's plazas. The stadium's concourse, along with yet-to-be-announced businesses facing Jackson Avenue, will be open to the public year-round.

The stadium features three bars and the specialized Craft Corner offering artisan beer from Knoxville and beyond, as well as a Tennessee-shaped scoreboard and a modern version of the iconic Old City water tower behind right field.
