Kirill Kaprizov has, in one way, surpassed The Great One in NHL playoff history.
On the all-time charts for goals per playoff game, Kaprizov is now ahead of Gretzky after notching a tally in the Minnesota Wild's win Saturday over the Dallas Stars to open the postseason.
Kaprizov had one goal and two assists in the 6-1 rout.

That post from Michael Russo of The Athletic doesn't quite match what Hockey Reference shows, but in both instances, Kaprizov is ahead of Gretzky.
Gretzky averaged 0.59 goals per game in his playoff career.
There are four players shown ahead of Kaprizov on Hockey Reference: Mario Lemieux (0.71), Mike Bossy (0.66), Barry Pederson (0.65) and Maurice Richard (0.621).
Regardless of the total specificity here, it's remarkable.
Kaprizov is the active leader in this category, ahead of Nathan MacKinnon, Jake Guentzel and Leon Draisaitl.
The likes of Bobby Hull, Alex Ovechkin, Mark Messier, Connor McDavid, Jarome Iginla and Eric Lindros appear further down the list, too.
Kaprizov might not be quite as much of a household name as some since he plies his trade in Minnesota, but if he keeps performing like this in the postseason, everyone is going to know who he is soon enough.
