Why wasn't there a ten second runoff at the end of the half?

I don't know if anyone noticed this, but on the play before the Seahawks kicked a field goal to end the half, there was no ten second runoff for their penalty.

Aren't the refs supposed to do that when an offense commits a penalty at the end of the half?

Seattle kicked our butts plain and simple but they also got more than a few breaks go their way...

Was that the false start? If that's the one you're referring to, I'm not sure, maybe because it wasn't a running game clock?

There was the review, i think, shortly before hand that was supposed to have the a 10sec run off because the clock was running but SEA elected to use a TO. The refs clarified this.

Can't site the rule exactly but I think it can only happen if the clock is running at the snap, not from a dead ball. Don't ask me why.

Not sure IIRC but the penalized team is allowed to burn a timeout to prevent a run off.

Oops sorry, just noticed BillsCarnage already noted this.

Runoff is designed to not give a team an incentive to save time in exchange for yards

take a procedure penalty to stop the clock ...... they eliminated this possibility by rule

however, if the clock is stopped there is no advantage and no run off ..... you can trade time outs against the runoff as well

This was the holding call prior to the FG. The clock was running and Seattle would have likely been unable to get their FG unit out. The offensive penalty saved them. However, only a procedural penalty like a false start would cause a 10s runoff. Just unlucky for the Cards there.

The 10 second run off is only applied if/when the clock is running and it's a presnap penalty. Therefore a mid-play penalty does not constitute an 10 second run off.

Well refs are worth 10 points against the Cards going in to each game- stupid crap like grabbing the WR jersey is called against us while ignored when it happens to us- not a little - a lot!

The worse case was that Ravens game a couple years back- the East Coast Bias gave them 3 scores and a come back on like 20 some yards! While they tackled cards players before the ball got there- never mentioned that on sportscenter.
