Any infraction in a game involving Lionel Messi and Argentina is bound to get a lot of attention. Switzerland's Bree Embolo's second yellow card for simulation was tonight's play that has been receiving a raucous.

After Leandro Paredes looked to clip Embolo and bring him down, a closer look revealed that Paredes not only didn't make contact with the Swiss player, but Embolo threw himself down. This proved to be an act of simulation, and because Embolo already received a yellow card, his night was over.

Here's the latest on why Switzerland went down a man after Embolo's second yellow card.

Why did Switzerland go down to 10 men?

Heading into the 70th minute, after Switzerland had just tied the match, Joao Pinheiro approached the VAR monitor after it was determined he needed to take a second look at his decision to call a foul on Paredes.

During the review, the referee noticed Embolo falling to the pitch despite never receiving contact from Paredes' boot. The result, since Embolo had picked up a first yellow card earlier due to a late challenge, was a second yellow card. Another two words for that: red card.
