The New York Knicks trailed by as much as 29 in their historic NBA Finals comeback victory in Game 4. They never wavered, and it's a credit to the impossibly even-keeled OG Anunoby, who made clutch play after clutch play to get New York to the brink of championship glory.
Anunoby scored 33 points and went 7 of 9 from 3, but stats don't begin to describe his impact. He was relentless defensively, forcing a key De'Aaron Fox turnover with two minutes to go before making a game-saving block on an ill-advised Fox layup attempt with 15 seconds left.
Then came Anunoby's pièce de résistance. Jalen Brunson launched a heave from 3-point land as the Knicks trailed by one with seconds remaining, and Anunoby flew by three ball-watching San Antonio Spurs for a miraculous game-winning tip-in.
The finish sent Madison Square Garden into pandemonium. For Anunoby, it was another day at the office, as he described postgame.
"It feels cool," Anunoby said nonchalantly. "I mean, everyone's pretty excited. I'm excited too."
That's the type of reaction you'd expect when your coworker reminds you Doug from accounting is bringing bagels to the break room. It's simply remarkable how locked in Anunoby is.
Anunoby won a championship with the Toronto Raptors at age 21 but hardly saw the floor. Now, after years of improvement and a trade to The Big Apple, he's the catalyst for what'll likely be the Knicks' first title since 1973.
It's a story straight out of Hollywood authored by a player who couldn't care less for the spotlight.

Q: "You just hit the game-winning shot in an NBA Finals game in front of your home crowd. How does that feel?"
