The Buffalo Bills made a big invested in Landon Jackson but only saw a return of three games from him as a rookie in 2025.
At the 2025 NFL Draft, Jackson was selected in the third round by Buffalo but he failed to make any sort of impact in his first season. That could soon change if training camp is any indication.
Jackson has stood out on the defensive line. His versatility to play all over it has always been touted but rarely seen for the Bills. Because of a few factors, Jackson might get his opportunity in 2026.
Jackson came into the summer having bulked up his frame to 285 pounds. Not only is he bigger, there is a new defense in Buffalo. The scheme defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard runs is a 3-4, different than the 4-3 scheme former Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott ran.
Both are benefitting Jackson's game, in his mind.
"I really thrive at this weight," Jackson said. "The scheme change, I'm a big fan of it."
Leonhard would agree likely agree.
"He sees the vision of the defense and what his role can be in it," Leonhard said this spring.
