Why it is hard for Juventus to sign Davide Frattesi
Juventus want to sign Davide Frattesi as they look to improve their squad under Luciano Spalletti, but the midfielder has not yet made the move and the Bianconeri have not stepped up their interest. Frattesi rarely plays for Inter Milan, and the club would not be opposed to sending him to Juventus for a fee despite the rivalry between the two sides.
Frattesi has chosen Juventus because of Spalletti, who was his manager with the Italian national team. The Juventus manager is also keen to work with him again, making the potential transfer an appealing option for both the player and the club.
Juventus face midfield issue
Frattesi is a superb player and is already regarded as one of the top stars in the league. He could improve the Juventus team if he reaches his full potential, which makes him an attractive target for Spalletti as he looks to build his squad.
The midfielder remains on Juventus’ transfer shortlist, but the Bianconeri are currently unable to formalise their approach. Their existing midfield options have created a problem, as the club need to make room in the squad before they can seriously pursue another player in the same position.
Frattesi move depends on departures
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus have been trying to sell some of their current midfielders. Unless those departures happen, a move for Frattesi will not work because the squad already contains too many midfielders who need to leave.
The problem for Juventus is that there are currently no buyers for most of the players they want to sell. This has prevented the club from creating the space needed to pursue Frattesi and could delay their plans for the midfielder.
Spalletti remains keen to work with his former Italy player, while Frattesi has made it clear that Juventus is his preferred destination. However, the Bianconeri must first solve their current squad problem before they can make a serious move for the Inter midfielder.
