Wow. WOW. WOWWWW! Michigan head coach Dusty May -- who just won a national championship helming the Wolverines back in 2026 March Madness -- is going to be hired by the Dallas Mavericks to be the bench boss of a team that has Cooper Flagg on it.

So why did he leave Michigan to jump to the NBA? Why now after two seasons in Ann Arbor and 64-13 record with the Wolverines that includes that aforementioned national championship?

The answer, per ESPN: "He'd ruled out other college jobs this off-season, but the NBA has always been intriguing to May." So it's not like this is completely coming out of nowhere.

Who will replace Dusty May at Michigan?

No official word yet. It could be an assistant coach promotion from within or bringing in a new name to take over. But here's a list of candidates who could replace him.

Will Michigan players transfer after Dusty May left for the Mavericks?

That's always a possibility when a move like this happens at the top. Stay tuned.
