Why didn't England start soccer superstars Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane in Saturday's third-place World Cup game in Miami against France?
Manager Thomas Tuchel didn't put either of his stars in the lineup for the penultimate World Cup match. Why is that?
Well, consider first that this game is basically just for pride with a World Cup title completely out of reach. Perhaps England doesn't want to overwork two of its best players in an essentially meaningless game. Also, France probably expected Bellingham and Kane to start the game, so this might throw off the opponent a bit.
While England fans undoubtedly wanted to see Bellingham and Kane play, they'll have to wait until they're subbed in to watch them finish out this summer's World Cup in the consolation game.
Sunday in East Rutherford between Spain and Argentina.
