Belgium's national football team is known as the Red Devils.

But when they take on La Roja, Spain, on Friday in a World Cup quarterfinal, it'll be the Spanish side that gets to wear their red jerseys.

Belgium? They've got those blue-and-pink uniforms on.

It's the look they defeated the United States in during the Round of 16, and it's back for the final eight.

Belgium clearly feels good about these colors, even if they aren't what you first think of when you imagine the Belgian national team.

Why are Belgium's jerseys blue and pink?

This is their official 'away jersey' for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

adidas designed the look, and it is meant to pay homage to the Belgian surrealist painter, Rene Magritte.

According to adidas, the jersey is inspired in part by Magritte's painting known as "The Son of Man."

There's also a message written in the color which, translated, reads "This is not a jersey," because Magritte had words on a painting of a pipe that read, "This is not a pipe."

As long as Belgium wins, their fans won't complain.

The test will be tough against Spain, but it'd be a surreal moment to reach the World Cup semifinal, and Belgium is going to have to do it in blue and pink.
