Why Alvin Kamara missing Saints OTAs isn’t necessarily bad thing

OTAs began this week, and the Saints spent the first day participating in team-bonding activities before officially taking the practice field on Wednesday.

During that practice session, one notable franchise player was not present. Yes, Cam Jordan was missing in action, but that is because he remains a free agent.

The other franchise player absent for the Saints was Alvin Kamara.

Now, given the circumstances surrounding Kamara this offseason, his absence could certainly cause some alarm bells to go off. However, it is important to remember that it has been quite some time since Kamara has regularly participated in OTAs.

The good news is that Kamara is still under contract and is guaranteed $3 million. Additionally, according to Nick Underhill and his sources, Kamara has been working daily with his trainers while preparing for the upcoming season.

As is usual, Alvin Kamara was not at OTAs today, per source. He's working out with his trainers daily and is preparing for the upcoming season.

The sooner Kamara makes an appearance during team activities, the sooner the fan base will be able to exhale. But for now, his absence should not be viewed as a sign that the situation is becoming any more complicated than it already is.
