Todd Gilliland pulled off another NASCAR in-season challenge tournament upset in the final against Ryan Blaney.

Gilliland claimed the $1 million prize as the in-season challenge winner at the Brickyard 400 on July 26 after finishing 24th, two positions ahead of Blaney after the No. 12 suffered damage in a Lap 118 crash.

The No. 34 never threatened the top 20 until the end of Stage 2, getting the fortunate end of a late-stage caution after running long to finish in second and grab stage points.

But that also forced him to the back after pitting under the stage break. Gilliland missed the crash that Blaney was involved in, then held on from 24th to claim the prize.
