In my opinion..scott player. he was darn near perfect during the preseason..and since he played a 4 quarters the last few games - he had more opportunities to play well than the other starters (hence me giving him this award - some award hugh?)....and in my opinion he had a darn near perfect preseason...great kicking inside the 20, very long for average, great hang time..I do not think he has one substandard punt.

Then..the season starts..and he had a pretty bad game (compared to his standard). He averaged 40 yards...but alot of the times he could boom it away (the detroit kicker was usually punting to a shorter field). He also was kicking more line drives..

like other players..you cannot say the guy across the line from him was kicking his ass..

Mac essentially laid some of the blame on the punt return for a td on player..said it was a short line drive kick - 2 missed tackles..and the guy is in the end zone (per mac at his press conference today - played on kdus)...The game was indoors (or I think it was - I did not pay attention to the new stadium much) - no weather issues..he kicked well in san diego and in minnesota (both away games )...what he hell happened? Why does the only guy on our roster who has represented the cardinals in the pro bowl have a bad day?

Just curious...

also..grammatica had better kickoffs in minnesota..shouldn't he had comparable results in Detroit (comparable situation)?
