Who is Team USA's goalie? Meet Aerin Frankel, who has already made Olympic women's hockey history originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Aerin Frankel is about to play the biggest hockey game of her life.
The Team USA women's hockey goalie is built for this. She has already made Winter Olympics history, and the gold medal game on Thursday against Canada is a chance for Frankel to become a legend.
As far as history is concerned, though, Frankel already has this: She's the first goalie with three shutouts in a single Olympic tournament, for any country.
And as any good goalie will do, she credits the players in front of her:
“The team is playing so well defensively they are making my job easy by making the plays in front of me so predictable so I can do my job," Frankel said after the semifinal win.
Here's more of what you should know about Frankel.

Who is Team USA's goalie?
Aerin Frankel has been the main goalie for the United States at the Olympics, supplemented by Gwyneth Philips.
Frankel is 26 years old and originally from Briarcliff Manor in Westchester County, outside of New York City.
She attended a boarding school to further her hockey career, Shattuck-Saint Mary's in Minnesota. She won 106 games there.
Frankel competed collegiately at Northeastern. In 2021, she was named national goalie of the year twice, and she led the Huskies to the 2021 national championship game.
Now, Frankel plays for the Boston Fleet in the PWHL.
