The 2026 World Cup features a lot of firsts.

There were four teams, including Cinderella story Cape Verde, making their World Cup debut.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first goal in a World Cup knockout round.

And there will be a halftime show at the World Cup final for the first time.

Shakira, who released the official song of the tournament, "Dai Dai," with Burna Boy, will be performing in the show along with Madonna and BTS. She already was part of Mexico's opening ceremony, marking her fourth performance at a World Cup and her return to the competition for the first time since 2014.

On Wednesday, July 8, FIFA announced that Justin Bieber will be joining the star-studded lineup. The Canadian crooner wowed with his stripped down performance at Coachella this spring and will now bring his hits to the global stage.
