The Tennessee Titans will have a new kicker in the lineup when they face the Las Vegas Raiders on Oct. 12.
Joey Slye, the kicker through the first five games, has been ruled out of their game against the Raiders with an undisclosed injury. Slye had made 13-of-17 field goals this season, but according to coach Brian Callahan, he was injured during the Titans' 22-21 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Oct. 5.
The Titans signed kicker Matthew Wright, who previously kicked for the Titans in 2024, on Oct. 8. He is now the team's only healthy kicker and in line to get the start against the Raiders.
The Titans (1-4) face the Raiders (1-4) on Oct. 12 (3:05 p.m. CT, FOX) looking to win two games in a row for the first time since November 2022.
Wright, 29, has kicked field goals for five different NHL teams, including Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Jacksonville Tennessee, Carolina, and San Francisco. His longest tenure was with the Jaguars in 2021 − and was 21-of-24 for field goals in 14 games. Wright played two games for the Chiefs in 2022 and earned a Super Bowl ring.
In 2024, Wright played two games for the Titans in place of injured kicker Nick Folk. He went 2-for-2 against the Jaguars on Dec. 29 and 2-for-2 against Houston on Jan. 5.
Wright, a Lancaster, Pennsylvania, native, has a career accuracy of 87.3% and a career long of 59 yards.
Wright played for Central Florida and in four seasons with Knights (2015-8) had an accuracy of 77.5% in 51 games.

Wright once helped end a 20-game losing streak for the Jaguars, making a 53-yard game-winning field goal against Miami on Oct. 17, 2021.
