I'm out on kyler as a star QB...he just ain't it.
But he is better than Trent Dilfer...and Trent won a Super Bowl.
I would be up for trading him if the right offer came in.
But now is not the time. You trade a starting QB in February or March...when you can put a number to the picks you are getting.
That way you can combine that capital to your own picks and trade with Cleveland or new York for a top three pick
I agree with your overall premise, but I disagree that Murray isn’t a star QB.
- Outside of the first 7 games of 2021, he’s never played alongside a defense that created short fields for him.
- 115 touchdown passes, only 57 interceptions. Lowest interception % in Cardinal history.
- Holds 16 Cardinal franchise records.
-Career 67% completion percentage
- 31 rushing touchdowns
- Has averaged almost 4000 passing yards in every full season he’s played. And that was without much talent on the OL and in the WR room.
- Only been sacked 179 times in his career & that’s behind some really bad pass protectors for most of his career. I watched Charlie Johnson, Jim Hart, Neil Lomax, and Jake Plummer. They were the only QB’s who were around long enough to be part of this discussion. I never thought Plummer was a star, but the other 3 were stars in their era. Like Murray, none of them ever had a defense to make their jobs easier. And yet, Murray has surpassed so many of them already.
With a much improved defense & an offense without a rookie WR1 who’s ready to explode in year 2, Murray will an be MVP candidate in 2025.
