The postseason is well underway in Ohio high school baseball, with regional tournament play beginning June 2 in central Ohio.
That means it is time to determine the top Columbus-area player for the regular season by voting in our poll. Below are the 14 candidates.
After reading their bios, scroll down to the ballot and cast your vote. You can vote once per hour.
Voting will conclude at noon June 4. Please do not email your votes; they will not count.
Most candidates were submitted by area coaches. Others were nominated by The Dispatch staff.
In addition, keep an eye out for the annual All-Metro teams for spring sports in the days following the Central Ohio High School Sports Awards show, which is June 22 at Upper Arlington High School.
The senior catcher and pitcher batted .347 during the regular season with three home runs, 23 RBIs and 27 stolen bases. On the mound, the Clark State commit was 7-0 with a 1.33 ERA and 64 strikeouts in 43⅔ innings.
The senior catcher and shortstop batted .444 with two doubles, a triple, four home runs and 18 RBIs. Bowers, who will play college baseball at Navy, added 18 runs scored, 10 stolen bases and nine walks.
The senior pitcher, who helped the Braves win the Division I state title last season, was 4-0 with a 0.76 ERA, 52 strikeouts and 16 walks in 37 innings. The Virginia Tech commit batted .358 with three doubles, a triple, two home runs, 22 RBIs, 15 runs scored and 11 stolen bases.
The junior pitcher and first baseman was 7-0 with a 0.87 ERA, 50 strikeouts and 15 walks in 40⅓ innings.
The senior pitcher was 8-0 with six complete games and one save in 50⅔ innings. The Clark State commit had a 0.55 ERA with 62 strikeouts and 10 walks.
The senior pitcher was 5-0 with a 0.91 ERA, 75 strikeouts and 18 walks in 46 innings. The Eastern Michigan commit holds the program record for career strikeouts with 174.
The sophomore catcher batted .493 with seven doubles, two home runs, 26 RBIs, 15 runs scored and eight stolen bases.
The senior pitcher, who helped lead the Green Wave to a Division VII state runner-up finish last season, was 8-1 with a 0.29 ERA, 77 strikeouts and seven walks in 54 innings.
The junior shortstop, who helped the Panthers win the Division III state title last season, batted .513 with 10 doubles, two triples, 38 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.
The junior pitcher and third baseman batted .364 with eight doubles, one triple, one home run, 23 RBIs, 19 walks and six stolen bases. On the mound, he was 5-0 with a 1.75 ERA and 50 strikeouts in 40 innings.
Also a standout in football, the junior catcher batted .400 with 12 doubles, two triples, three home runs, 19 RBIs, 23 runs scored and 11 walks. Defensively, he had no passed balls.
The senior pitcher and first baseman batted .402 with eight doubles, eight home runs, 30 RBIs and 24 runs scored. On the mound, the Louisville commit was 5-2 with a 2.08 ERA, 60 strikeouts and 13 walks in 40⅓ innings.
The senior catcher and infielder batted .494 with 12 doubles, two triples, five home runs and 23 RBIs. He will play at Ashland.
The senior pitcher and center fielder batted .643 with nine doubles, two triples, seven home runs, 21 RBIs, 37 runs scored and 24 walks. The Ohio State commit was 2-0 on the mound with a 1.44 ERA, 41 strikeouts and 23 walks in 19⅓ innings.

The senior pitcher was 8-0 with six complete games and one save in 50⅔ innings. The Clark State commit had a 0.55 ERA with 62 strikeouts and 10 walks.

Reid Hemrick, Olentangy Orange
The senior pitcher was 5-0 with a 0.91 ERA, 75 strikeouts and 18 walks in 46 innings. The Eastern Michigan commit holds the program record for career strikeouts with 174.
