Who is Aidan Oldenburg AKA 'Curling Rambo'? Meet the Olympic star

No, that's not Pommel Horse Guy Stephen Nedoroscik from the Summer Olympics who's on Team USA's curling squad.

That would be Aidan Oldenburg, whose red headband look has gotten him nicknamed Curling Rambo (although the glasses are getting him comparisons to Nedoroscik).

So who is he? Well, he's a 24-year-old who -- per his Team USA bio -- is an "experienced juggler. He began curling at the age of 10 and he's an environmental scientist when he's not competing.

Where did the Rambo look come from? He gave the answer to The Guardian about what happened at a tournament in 2025:

“We had two games left that we had to play,” he said. “I was like, let’s have some fun. So an hour and a half before our game, I was like, I’m going to go buy some headbands, I’ll have everyone wear them.”

When Oldenburg’s team, skipped by Danny Casper, later qualified for the Olympics he decided the bandana was here to stay.

“No one else has the hair for it on our team,” Oldenburg said. “My hair used to be longer than this. It’s all like a kind of utility and, honestly, it’s so hot out there in the arena, it helps to keep the sweat out of my eyes.”
