That game was his coming out party, 10 receptions for 134 yards and a TD and as everyone surely knows he's been on a tear ever since. He had done very little coming into that game and I can't remember who Peterson was matched up on predominantly during it because all of their WR's seemed incredibly average going into it. Anyone have the coaches tape/stats/memory for that? I am curious who gave up the majority of the yards to him.

Powers.

PP was on Lockett.

That's what I figured was the case. Thanks. I don't see that offense doing a whole lot if Peterson blankets Baldwin like he has against everyone else this season. Assuming we don't let one of their nobody TE's go off on us since that seems to be our style.

Put Peterson on Baldwin, Bethel on Lockett, and Powers on Kearse. With that coverage configuration, I would be most worried about Bethel on Lockett, but Lockett isn't that good yet so the damage shouldn't be too bad.

One slight switch:

Peterson on Baldwin
Bethel on Kearse
Powers on Lockett

Lockett is speed but an unrefined route runner

I would rather have Bethel on that match up

Kearse is larger but slower -- better for Powers

This couldn't be more opposite.

Lockett was known most in college for his route running.

But that doesn't mean he's a good NFL route runner. Even Larry Fitzgerald, who was legendary as a route runner in college was not a good route runner immediately.

The reason I said Bethel on Lockett is because he can run with Lockett, which is the main concern with Lockett right now. He is not considered a great route runner in the NFL right now.

Kearse isn't too fast, but he will occasionally make the veteran WR play. Put Powers on him; Kearse doesn't effectively use his size to his advantage too often.

Ya if I remember correctly most people thought his build, and lack of speed would keep him from being an outside receiver. His dad was a NLFer so one would think he was taught well from an early age. So all that says to me is he is a slot receiver at best. Might not have ever a the chance if he wasn't a good returner.

build maybe, but he ran a 4.4 40 at the combine - which was a top 5 time among the WRs
