The 2026 Kentucky Derby is here, with all the incredible fashions, mint juleps and horse racing's best at Churchill Downs for the Run for the Roses.
There will be plenty to take in, with an afternoon full of horse racing before the main event in the evening. And it'll all get started with the call for "Riders Up!" and the United States national anthem. So who's singing The Star-Spangled Banner on Saturday?
That would be Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks of the Tedeschi Trucks Band. The blues legends have performed the anthem before at various sporting events over the years, as you can see below.
They are indeed! They got married back in 2001. They have two kids together, and they met in 1999 when her band opened for the Allman Brothers Band (Trucks was a member).
