World Cup friendlies today: Tuesday, June 9 schedule​


Several key matchups are on tap as teams across different regions wrap up their final tune-ups:

June 9 (Tuesday)

  • 11 p.m. - DR Congo vs Chile
  • 7 p.m. - Saudi Arabia vs Senegal
  • 8 p.m. - Argentina vs Iceland

These games follow Monday’s slate of friendlies, where teams like France, the Netherlands and Spain took the field against international opponents as part of their final evaluations.

Full international friendly schedule (final days before World Cup)​


Wednesday, June 10 marks the last full day of international friendlies before the tournament officially begins.

June 10 (Wednesday)

  • Midnight. - Guatemala vs Austria
  • 3:45 p.m. - Portugal vs Nigeria
  • 4 p.m. - England vs Costa Rica

After these games, teams will shift fully into tournament mode.

When does the 2026 World Cup start?​


The 2026 FIFA World Cup officially kicks off Thursday, June 11, bringing together 48 teams for the largest tournament in the competition’s history.

  • Round of 16: July 4-7
  • Quarterfinals: July 9-11
  • Semifinals: July 14 and 15
  • Third-place match: July 18
  • World Cup final: July 19

With games spread across North America and multiple time zones, match times will vary daily throughout the tournament.

How to watch World Cup matches on TV?​


Most of the World Cup games will air live on major TV networks in the U.S., making it relatively easy to watch matches without special subscriptions if you have cable or a digital antenna.

English-language coverage will be primarily carried on FOX and FS1, with many of the biggest matchups — including knockout rounds and the final — airing on regular broadcast TV channels. Spanish-language coverage will also be available on Telemundo and Universo.

Telemundo will air 92 games on its free over-the-air station, with the other 12 airing on Universo.
