He’s back, baby! Kyle Teel blasts a home run in first rehab game. | (Mark J. Rebilas/Imagn Images)

Norfolk Tides 9, Charlotte Knights 6
Things looked good at first as Rikuu Nishida cracked a leadoff double, scooted to third on a routine grounder, and then watched as three straight Knights worked walks to force in the opener. Oliver Dunn followed with a laser to right, clearing the bases for a 3-0 jumpstart.

Unfortunately, that cushion evaporated instantly. The Tides teed off on Duncan Davitt for three in the second, running him out of the game before he could finish the second inning.

But the Knights (19-21) had a little more juice in the second, although it wouldn’t be enough to capture the W. Caden Connor uncorked a solo shot, and Kyle Teel — fresh off the IL — launched a two-run bomb in his first rehab start. Good to see KT back on the dirt, and suddenly, it was 6-3 Charlotte.

Then came the unraveling. Norfolk battered Brandon Eisert for four in the third, snatching the lead and never looking back. They tacked on more in the fourth with a pair of doubles off Garrett Schoenle. Jordan Leasure at least offered a clean fifth, and Chris Murphy pitched two quiet frames. But with the Knights trailing 8-6, the Tides tacked on one more off Adisyn Coffey in the ninth just to twist the knife.

Rocket City Trash Pandas 3, Birmingham Barons 2
The Trash Pandas struck first with an RBI double in the second and then plated their second tally off of a throwing error. Barons starter Jake Palisch was solid and earned himself a quality start, going six innings and giving up only two runs (one earned) on six hits, with one walk and five Ks.

The Barons (14-20) came to life in the fifth. Wilfred Veras singled, then came around on a Jordan Sprinkle double to right. That cut the gap to one. Samuel Zavala worked a walk, and then the Pandas handed over the tying run on a passed ball, and Calvin Harris trotted home. All square at two.

That’s the way it stayed, tied a two apiece until the top of the ninth when the Pandas scored one off Jairo Iriarte, who pitched a clean eighth, but couldn’t get it done in the ninth. A walk, a successful bunt, a wild pitch, and a single plated the winning run.

Winston-Salem Dash 12, Wilmington Blue Rocks 9
Wilmington started things off with a solo blast, but the Dash (19-15) wasted no time getting even. Caleb Bonemer and Ryan Burrowes worked free passes, then George Wolkow uncorked a moonshot — number five on the year— and suddenly it was 3-1 Winston-Salem.

The wheels kept turning: bases loaded, nobody out in the third, Grant Magill grounded into a double play but still cashed in a run. Two more walks, a throwing error, and the Dash had piled on five more. Wolkow wasn’t done, either — he lifted a sac fly for his fourth RBI of the night, and Magill chipped in with a single after Boston Smith swiped second. 8-1, Dash, and the rout was on.

Justin Sinibaldi gave the Dash five innings, three runs, six hits, and a win, but Wilmington kept poking around in the middle frames. Jack Young came in and promptly poured gasoline on the fire, giving up three runs in the sixth and letting Wilmington claw back within two. No matter. The Dash bats answered with a four-spot in the bottom half, Boston Smith legging out a triple, Kyle Lodise banging an RBI double, and the lead ballooned back to safe territory. The Rocks scratched out a run in each of the last three frames, but the Dash had already done the heavy lifting.

Charleston RiverDogs 5, Cannon Ballers 3
This one started with five innings of nothing, just two hurlers trading zeroes. Kanny’s starter, Caedmon Parker, has been solid this season, locking down a 2.73 ERA and 1.21 WHIP over seven starts.

Finally, a pulse from the Ballers (14-20) in the sixth when Nathan Archer singled, swiped third, Abraham Núñez walked and grabbed second, and then chaos — one wild throw, two runs in, Jaden Fauske tearing around to third. Stiven Flores chips in a sac fly, and suddenly Kannapolis has a three-spot. Fauske, who has been holding his own in 2026, was on base twice, including a triple in the first, and swiped his eighth stolen base.

But, as it goes, the bullpen blew it up late. Alexander Martinez breezed through sixth and seventh, then the wheels came off as Charleston hung a five-spot in the eighth.

Kanny tried to make it interesting in the ninth with back-to-back walks from Rylan Galvan and Marcelo Ácala, but Bryce Shaffer secured the save with three up and three down. Game over.

ACL Reds 6, ACL White Sox 4 (7 innings)
The ACL Reds came out swinging, exploding for four runs off Diego Perez in the first inning on the kind of defense you’d expect from a Little League team. The buffet included a throwing error, a hit batter, and a passed ball. The Reds tacked on another tally in the second off Reinder Gomez, then one more in the sixth off Blake Shepardson, just for good measure.

The ACL Sox (3-4) offense finally showed up in the fourth, with Eduardo Herrera lacing an RBI double to center to plate Landon Hodge, who earlier in the frame took one for the team. The sixth inning brought a crooked number when hits from Herrera, Yordani Soto, Jefrank Silva, and Derek Cerda strung together for three runs. Silva’s two-run double was the biggest blow, and Cerda contributed an RBI single. But that was the end of the fun as the Sox went quietly in the seventh.

Who was the ACL Sox MVP?
