Justin Martinez: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had his son, Ares, with him during his TV interview after winning the Clutch Player of the Year award. I asked SGA how knowing there's more to life than basketball, like being a father, takes the pressure off of him during big moments:
"Whether I make or miss, (Ares) doesn't care, so that kind of puts everything into perspective. It's bigger things than the game of basketball, even though we all care so much about it. I'm not saying basketball doesn't matter, but it doesn't even come close. And knowing that you have that to fall back and rely on, it relieves the shoulders, for sure."
