For the first time in a long time, that's all that matters for the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots. An offseason of injury woes for Shane Steichen's Colts doesn't quite stack up against the off-field drama that surrounded Mike Vrabel's Patriots, but it certainly a breath of fresh air.

Daniel Jones won't suit up for the road side and Drake Maye isn't expected to for the home side, meaning this contest is purely about the battles further down the depth chart.

That includes Anthony Richardson, who will get the nod for the Colts after what was an offseason of uncertainty. The fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft was given permission to seek a trade, something that never materialized for the 24-year-old. While he won't take the starting job away from Jones, it's still an opportunity to put some good reps on tape.

And that's the name of the game this time of year.
