Minnesota is deep at quarterback this year. Maybe not with Power Four recruits, but there is a good crop who have the ability to play on the next level from the Gophers to NAIA and Division III. Here are some of the candidates.

COMMITTED

JETT FEENEYMoorhead | Minnesota
Took the Spuds to the state title game. Athletic and can improvise. Throws with touch when he needs to. Smart with intangibles. Was a great take for the Gophers. Should be in the running for Minnesota’s Mr. Football.

CADEN GUTZMERMinnetonka | North Dakota
Mobile 6’2 prospect who makes a variety of throws and is comfortable throwing on the move but can also keep the ball on an RPO and hurt defenses with his feet. One of the crown jewels of the UND class.

OSBORNE LOPEZMankato West | Minnesota-Duluth
6’4, 215 pounds and got off to a great start last season before suffering an injury. Should have a big junior year. Only three games as a starter, but big and talented.

PARKER KUEHNSpringfield | Dordt College
Has a bigger frame at 6-foot-3, 180 pounds, and is a three-sport athlete who put put up some good testing numbers this off-season.

KARSEN HERMANWaconia | St. Thomas
St. Thomas was happy to keep Herman at home. He’s a multi-sport athlete with size (6-5, 205 pounds) and throws with anticipation. Also shows some mobility and ability to make plays with his feet.

UNCOMMITTED (but has offers)

TRISTAN KOWALKOWSKI – Becker
Posted good track and testing times at 6’2, 205 pounds. Sacramento State, Fordham, Central Michigan, Akron and Southern Miss have offered.

THOR SOUKUP – Wayzata
Physically strong 6’2, 220-pound prospect who also plays lacrosse. Northern Arizona and Fordham have offered.

ELI RODEMEYER – Byron
Had a solid junior year with 19 total touchdowns and was rewarded with several offers including Augustana, Sioux Falls and others. Has 4.0 GPA and also participated in basketball and track.

BECKHAM VANVOORST – Robbinsdale Cooper
Good athlete with a live arm at 6’2, 200 pounds. Can run with the ball and make plays with his feet as well as hang in the pocket and make throws. Northern Michigan and Sioux Falls are among his offers.

ETHAN RYAN – Holy Family Catholic
6-foot-3 with a smooth release. Has a handful of offers or roster spot offers from Jamestown, Gustavus and Saint Johns.

SAWYER SENST – Hermantown
Has great size at 6’6, 240 pounds and has a basketball background. Suffered an injury but working back through it. Some schools may want to look at him at other positions too. Rocky Mountain College, an NAIA program, has offered.
