Hurricanes fans should prepare to here Miami names come off the board throughout the draft. Especially in the first 50 picks that should include the big three.
Francis Mauigoa, Rueben Bain Jr and Akheem Mesidor should all be off the board by the mid second round. Yet even after those three have heard their names called, there are still another pair that could factor into the top 100.
Irish expected to go early
Francis Mauigoa - OT
2025: 16 games
Career: 42 games
Dane Brugler's Takeaway: Mauigoa is a durable blocker with coordinated movements, excellent play strength and the finishing mentality to match. Though his college tape says he can stay outside at right tackle, his skill set would be maximized inside at guard in the NFL.
Rueben Bain Jr - EDGE
2025: 16 games, 54 tackles-30 solo, 15.5 TFL, 9.5 sacks, 1 INT, 1 PD, 1 FF
Career: 38 games, 121 tackles-67 solo, 33.5 TFL, 20.5 sacks, 1 INT, 2 PD, 4 FF
Dane Brugler's Takeaway: Mauigoa is a durable blocker with coordinated movements, excellent play strength and the finishing mentality to match. Though his college tape says he can stay outside at right tackle, his skill set would be maximized inside at guard in the NFL.
Akheem Mesidor - EDGE
2025: 15 games, 63 tackles-38 solo, 17.5 TFL, 12.5 sacks, 4 FF
Career: 65 games, 208 tackles-123 solo, 52.5 TFL, 35.5 sacks, 4 PD, 5 FF
Dane Brugler's Takeaway: Mesidor won’t be universally loved because of his age and injury history, but he is a disruptive force off the edge who is always playing 100 mph. He projects as a three-down NFL starter, with interior value on subpackages.
Keionte Scott - CB
2025: 14 games, 64 tackles-42 solo, 13 TFL, 5 sacks, 5 PD, 2 FR, 2 FF
Career: 47 games, 179 tackles-130 solo, 19 TFL, 6 sacks, 14 PD, 2 FR, 2 FF
Dane Brugler's Takeaway: Mesidor won’t be universally loved because of his age and injury history, but he is a disruptive force off the edge who is always playing 100 mph. He projects as a three-down NFL starter, with interior value on subpackages.
Markel Bell - OT
2025: 16 games
Career: 28 games
Dane Brugler's Takeaway: Bell is high cut and faces some disadvantages because of how he is built, but he compensates with his length and ascending awareness, which suggests he has NFL starts in his future. His performance in 2025 forced NFL scouts to reevaluate both his ceiling and floor.
