When the 2026 Final Four wraps up at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, it will pack its bags and move about 300 miles northeast.
The 2027 NCAA men's Final Four will be held at Ford Field in Detroit, the home of the Detroit Lions. It will be the first time Detroit has hosted the NCAA Tournament semifinal matchups (and national championship game) since 2009, when North Carolina beat Michigan State in the final.
The Final Four games are scheduled to take place April 3, 2027, with the National Championship game being played April 5, 2027.
Meanwhile, the women's Final Four will take place just south, at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, on April 4-6, 2027.
The men's bid was a collaborative effort between the Detroit Sports Commission, Visit Detroit, MSU, the City of Detroit, Ford Field and the Lions.
“Michigan State University is proud to serve as the Host Institution for the 2027 NCAA Men’s Final Four in Detroit,” MSU athletic director Alan Haller said in the statement when the announcement was made in 2022. “The Final Four creates memories that last a lifetime, and we look forward to partnering with the Detroit Sports Commission, Visit Detroit, Ford Field and the City of Detroit to put on a tremendous event for fans, participating schools and student-athletes.”
Here's what to know.
Ticket applications are already available for the 2027 Final Four in Detroit via Ticketmaster. The application is for upper level seats and costs $400 each.
There's also a $25 fee to apply that will be refunded if the applicant is not selected.
Applicants will be notified by Oct. 31. The deadline to apply is May 31.
