The Philadelphia 76ers will have plenty of options to peruse as they look to make the right selection in the 2026 NBA draft on Tuesday. They hold the No. 22 pick as they acquired the pick from the Oklahoma City Thunder, via the Houston Rockets, in the Jared McCain trade at the deadline.
The Sixers have reportedly brought in six prospects for workouts ahead of Tuesday night. One of those prospects includes Houston big man Chris Cenac Jr., who is an intriguing prospect due to his athleticism and size at the big man spot. Those are tantalizing attributes to anybody in the NBA in 2026 and Cenac is somebody who can help right away in the rotation.
The Athletic's John Hollinger has Cenac ranked No. 25 on his draft big board top 75:
Cenac averaged 9.5 points and 7.9 rebounds in the 2025-26 season with the Cougars and will be looking to carry that type of athleticism and rebounding skill to the next level. The Sixers certainly need to fortify the bench unit and could use another backup big man at this stage of their quest toward winning a championship. Joel Embiid is phenomenal, but the big fella has had issues staying on the floor so the Sixers should look into Cenac on draft night.

Cenac offers glimmers of hope as a floor-spacer, although that looks to be a project: He made 33.3 percent from 3 on fairly light volume and shot 62.1 percent from the line. Of more encouraging note is his ball security, with just 33 turnovers the entire season. Even for bigs in off-ball roles, that’s not common.
Defensively, Cenac is big and fairly mobile, with true center size thanks to a 7-5 wingspan. However, he disappoints as a rim protector, sending back just 18 shots in 37 games. Cenac requires a bit more projection than some other players in this class and is unlikely to be game-ready immediately, but he has some real upside as a floor-spacing glass-eater who moves pretty fluidly for his size.
