The Crown Point Bulldogs are headed to the IHSAA Class 4A championship game after beating Northridge 66-40 Saturday night at Elkhart's North Side Gymnasium.
One of the most complete teams in the Hoosier State, the Bulldogs look to make history against another program also in an unfamiliar position.
Here's what to know about the program.
The school is located in Crown Point, Indiana, about 52 miles from downtown Chicago and the United Center, home of the Chicago Bulls
Entering the Class 4A championship game the Bulldogs are 25-1. Their only loss came by 14 to 21st Century Charter School (PA) on January 31.
Crown Point is currently ranked just outside of the USA TODAY Sports Super 25 on the watchlist.
Mason Darrell is a Bellarmine pledge and leads the Bulldogs in scoring. Forward Dikembe Shaw, a UIC commitment, is their highest-rated player ranking No. 9 in the state and the No. 40 power forward in the country.
Clint Swan is in his 20th season as Crown Point's head coach and 25th year as a head coach in Indiana. He's compiled a record of 306-162 with the Bulldogs.
This is Crown Point's first time making it to the on the boys side after getting knocked out by Fishers in semistate the last to years. Its girls team have won three state championships in 1984, 1985 and 2021.
Crown Point is set to play against Mt. Vernon in a rematch of a game that Bulldogs won 60-56 on December 23. Mt. Vernon is also making its first state championship appearance.
