If there was ever a concern about Duke’s recruiting suffering once Mike Krzyzewski retired following the 2021-22 season, Jon Scheyer has proven that all the worries were not worth it.

The Blue Devils’ head coach has landed the top-ranked class of the 2026 recruiting cycle, with three players being in the top 25 in 247Sports’ final rankings and four in the top 100.

Cameron Williams leads the class at No. 4 overall. The 6-foot-11 forward out of St. Mary’s in Phoenix is the top-ranked power forward in the class and is expected to be a first-day starter for Scheyer’s squad. He’s a natural shooter with great length who, if he lives up to expectations, could become the third straight Duke player to win Freshman of the Year in the ACC, following in the footsteps of Cooper Flagg and Cameron Boozer.

Deron Rippey Jr., the top-ranked point guard, comes in at No. 11 overall, while Bryson Howard, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard, finished at No. 21 after falling six spots in the final rankings.

Maxime Meyer, a 7-foot-1 center out of IMG Academy, is ranked at No. 91.

Duke would likely have another player in the top 25 in center Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje, but he is not ranked because he played professionally for FC Barcelona before committing to Duke. Still, the experts at 247Sports know how good a basketball player he can be.

"Based on film and our in-person evaluation of Boumtje Boumtje at USA Basketball, we graded him as a five-star prospect," Finkelstein told TheDevilsDen.com. "Had he played in the States and been considered for the Top 150, he would have been in the conversation as the top center in the class and would rank higher than any center currently in the national rankings."
