The Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat agreed to a deal on June 22 that sent Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis Jr. to Florida, while the Bucks received a consortium of players and draft picks from the Heat.
That deal became official once the new league year began July 6.
With that, Nate Ament − who Miami selected No. 13 for Milwaukee during the first round of the 2026 NBA Draft on June 23 − became a member of the Bucks
Ament joined No. 10 pick Brayden Burries and No. 60 pick Malique Lewis as members of the 2026 Bucks draft class. Lewis was acquired in a three-team deal during the second round on June 24.
As the 2026-27 NBA season officially begins, Milwaukee made several roster decisions as it declined Andre Jackson Jr.’s team option and waived Pete Nance before his contract became guaranteed. Gary Trent Jr. opted out of his contract and is an unrestricted free agent.
Several players opted into their deals, too.
Let’s look at where the Bucks roster currently stands:
(Note: Teams are allowed to carry three players on two-way contracts. Two-way contracts mean players can also play with the Wisconsin Herd and are limited to 50 games with the Bucks. They are also ineligible for postseason play.)
