Despite winning two straight games, BYU has fallen a spot in the national rankings.

The Cougars came in at No. 23 in Monday’s latest AP Top 25 poll, their lowest mark of the year after landing at No. 7 in the preseason rankings.

BYU is the lowest-ranked Big 12 squad out of six ranked teams from the conference, joining No. 2 Houston, No. 4 Arizona, No. 6 Iowa State, No. 8 Kansas and No. 13 Texas Tech.

In KenPom, the Cougars are ranked No. 22, while coming in at No. 20 in NET.

BYU will head on the road for a rematch with No. 4 Arizona on Wednesday before returning to Provo to host No. 6 Iowa State on Saturday.

But the Cougars will face the pair of top 10 teams without the services of their veteran star Richie Saunders, who was ruled out for the season with a torn ACL suffered in Saturday’s victory over Colorado.
