The 2030 World Cup will be co-hosted by Spain, Portugal and Morocco, but it will also feature one game in each of Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the inaugural tournament.
Things will kick off in South America on June 8, 2030 with centenary ceremonies and opening matches before the rest of the World Cup gets underway a few days later on the other side of the Atlantic.
The Spain-Portugal-Morocco World Cup will be the second in a row co-hosted by three countries after the USA-Canada-Mexico 2026 tournament became the first to do so. For the 2030 tournament, all six hosts – including the South American ones – automatically qualify.
But it's not yet certain how many teams will participate in the 2030 World Cup, with some world soccer leaders pushing to expand the tournament even further to 64 – up from the record 48 in 2026.
Host cities and stadiums have not been officially finalized yet, but the current list of proposed venues includes six in Morocco, three in Portugal and 11 in Spain. Lisbon, Barcelona and Madrid each have two stadiums under consideration.
The 2034 World Cup will be held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
