When the Los Angeles Lakers play against the Oklahoma City Thunder, they will not immediately have franchise superstar Luka Dončić on the court.

Dončić has not played since he suffered a left hamstring injury on April 2, which means he has now missed more than one month of action. He traveled to Spain to get treatment for the injury but missed the entire opening round series against the Houston Rockets. The six-time All-Star returned to the United States later in the month.

Even though he is officially ruled out for Game 1 against the defending champions, it is possible he is able to return this postseason.

Lakers head coach JJ Redick said there is "no update" about when Dončić is expected to return.

According to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, though, he is "not close" to getting back on the court.

Based on the usual timeline for an injury like his, one doctor speculated the earliest timeline as Game 4 on May 11. However, as of right now, it is also entirely possible he misses the entirety of the series against Oklahoma City if it does not extend into a long one.
