The latest odds are good news for Miami, a reason for Philly to smile and bad news for Golden State.
After spending much of the offseason at No. 3 behind Cleveland and Golden State, the Miami Heat have moved into the lead when it comes to signing the King. And the 76ers have moved into third place.
Miami has a 48 percent of landing LeBron according to Kalshi on Monday evening at 5:30 p.m. They’re followed by the Cavaliers, who have a 25 percent chance. Philadelphia, which had been fourth for most of the offseason ticks up to third with a 17 percent chance to land the King, while Golden State, which held the lead not that long ago, comes in with a 12 percent chance.
The odds mean nothing, as they change all the time with no signing. But it's fun to keep tabs, especially if one of your teams is still in the running.
According to Kalshi, pretty soon.
There’s a 35 percent chance he signs by July 21, a 52 percent shot at that he signs before July 22, and nearly a 70 percent chance he signs before July 23.
It makes sense.
The NBA last week said it would like for James to make a decision because where he ends up will impact NBA TV schedules. It would be hard to imagine James’ team not having a Christmas Day game. Before they can schedule it, he needs to pick a team.
He still has three months before the start of the season, but everyone expects the decision to be made before the end of July.
LeBron James is 41. He will turn 42 on Dec. 30.
